Greg Gorman is an American photographer and, for nearly fifty years, a defining figure in the Los Angeles photographic tradition. He studied photojournalism at the University of Kansas and earned an MFA in cinematography from the University of Southern California. Known for his command of light, sculptural compositions and intimate relationships with his subjects, he has created many defining portraits of actors, musicians and artists, using portraiture to reveal character. He has received the Lucie Award for Portraiture and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Professional Photographers of America.
