Justin Ortiz

Justin Ortiz (b. 1998, Sleepy Hollow, NY) lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Before earning a BFA in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ortiz trained through apprenticeships at classical painting ateliers. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Pumpkin Bong at Catbox Contemporary, New York; The Golden Arm and Pleasure Guttus at Five Car Garage, Los Angeles; and The Apartment: Justin Ortiz & Kira Scerbin at Droll, Chicago. Recent group exhibitions include Chanterelle at Ashes/Ashes, New York; Beach at Nino Mier Gallery, New York; Evening Shadow at Make Room, Los Angeles; and Nice Work, curated by Jake Fagundo, at Sulk Chicago.
