Keiran Brennan Hinton
Keiran Brennan Hinton (b. 1992, Toronto) is a Canadian‑born painter whose work intimately explores domestic space, light, and observation. He earned a BFA from Pratt Institute in 2014 and an MFA from Yale School of Art in 2016.
His paintings, often produced in a renovated 1918 Ontario schoolhouse and his Toronto or Bronx studios, depict the quotidian—windows, interiors, light changes—through loose brushwork and a limited palette attuned to atmosphere and texture. Hinton emphasizes “felt space” rather than technical precision, creating works that invite lingering and introspection.
His solo exhibitions span New York, Toronto, Tokyo and Stuttgart, and his work is held in museum collections including the Art Gallery of Ontario. Splitting time between Canada and the US, Hinton continues to refine a practice rooted in patience, interior life, and the quiet observation of everyday moments.
