Manuel Álvarez Bravo: (1902–2002) presents photographs printed by the artist himself and held by his Estate since his death — works never widely exhibited during his lifetime, offered here for the first time in the Americas. Spanning landscapes, still lifes, street portraits, self-portraits, and local flora and fauna, the exhibition offers a comprehensive view of a practice that represented Mexico in all its social, symbolic, and cultural complexity across a century of life. A master of light and shadow, Álvarez Bravo used strong sunlight to transform everyday scenes into poetic, structurally rich compositions. More than two decades after his death, the photographs remain unexpectedly present.
