Robert Duran: 1970–1977 highlights the artist’s evolution from sharp-edged abstraction to flowing vertical forms shaped by his use of acrylics and watercolors. Embracing color’s fluidity, Duran developed a process-driven approach rooted in improvisation and repetition. His compositions—structured yet organic—grew increasingly attuned to movement, space, and the natural world, especially water. This is the first California presentation of these works since his early acclaim in New York.
