Storage presents A New Sacred, featuring Carolyn Oberst and Eden Seifu in an intergenerational dialogue on Christian iconography and power. Oberst’s The Crosses We Bear (1990-94) reinterprets the cross as a call to action against environmental destruction. Seifu’s works, influenced by El Greco and Ethiopian Christian art, depict figures imbued with the sublime. Her Two-Headed Cherub and The Angel of Pilgrimage merge historical religious forms with a modern, eclectic visual language.
