The FLAG Art Foundation presents A Rose Is, an exhibition exploring the rose’s multifaceted role in art and culture. Featuring works across various mediums, it delves into the flower’s symbolism, from beauty and desire to impermanence and commerce. Inspired by Cy Twombly’s The Rose III, the exhibition considers the rose’s linguistic, historical, and political dimensions, examining its presence in advertising, ritual, and activism, ultimately reinterpreting its familiar image through contradiction and transformation.
