A silent crack is a solo exhibition by German painter Mona Ardeleanu. Building her paintings in layers, Ardeleanu takes a sculptural approach, building her work in layers where material logic collapses on the canvas. Her objects are born unstuck in time, with gravity, function, and scale all quietly withdrawn. A heart becomes a textile fold. Birds tangle into fabric. Porcelain imitates flesh. The viewer encounters an image that is legible before it is comprehensible. Perception identifies, cognition hesitates. The forms do not represent experience—they occur. Not symbolism, not metaphor, but presence.
