Monte Vista Projects presents Ailene deVries: a stone holds my shadow, an exhibition of jacquard weavings drawn from photographs taken in cemeteries. DeVries captures her shadow on tombstones, transforming these images into intricate textiles that reflect on grief, memory, and connection. Through thread and gesture, she explores presence and absence, offering a tactile meditation on loss. The exhibition concludes with a Death Cafe, inviting open dialogue on mortality and remembrance.
