BLUM presents Wilhelm Sasnal’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, featuring paintings drawn from his time cycling through Southern California. Using photographs and sketches, Sasnal captures the visual language of the region’s roads, evoking noir-like moods through contrasts of pale color and black. Influenced by both art history and graphic media, his work reflects on asphalt as both material and metaphor, merging observation with conceptual inquiry into perspective, culture, and perception.
