Shoshana Wayne Gallery presents Absinthe, Smoke, Sugar, Choice by Sabrina Gschwandtner, examining women’s autonomy in the wake of Roe v. Wade’s overturning. Using film quilts and video, she reinterprets early cinema by women to reclaim erased depictions of pregnancy and desire. Through archival footage, hand-painted film, and personal narrative, Gschwandtner weaves a vivid history of resistance and bodily agency.
