*After Magic* gathers about 35 small paintings and two monumental canvases by Pat Passlof from 1948 to 1962, from her summer at Black Mountain College to her years on Tenth Street. The works move from geometric and organic shapes to all-over painterly surfaces and bold color chords, shaped by her interest in cosmology, astrology and the I Ching, and her pursuit of “magic” in abstraction.
