Afterlight presents new paintings and works on paper by Rachel MacFarlane that extend her speculative approach to landscape. Informed by research in Spain and renewed study of wild plants, the works incorporate identifiable flora while examining sunlight, climate, and ecological change. Drawing from visionary and symbolic traditions, the paintings reimagine landscape as a site shaped by environmental pressure, memory, and projected futures.
