Agosto Machado’s second solo at Gordon Robichaux presents new shrine and altar sculptures alongside early works, honoring decades of friendship, loss, and queer cultural history. A key figure of New York’s underground since the 1960s, Machado is both artist and archivist, preserving ephemera and memories of his community. The installation interweaves art, performance, and activism, reflecting his lifelong devotion to remembrance, care, and collective spirit.
