Alexander Ross presents new paintings that deepen his investigation of perceptual ambiguity and organic form. Beginning with clay models that are photographed, digitally altered, and rendered in oil, each image is built from interlocking bands of color. Vivid hues and shifting depth unsettle the picture plane, while matrix-like grounds suspend biomorphic forms between recognition and invention, evoking biology without fixed reference.
