Lichtundfire is pleased to announce and welcome all to the Opening Reception of ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE, inspired by the legendary allegory by Ancient Greek Philosopher and Theoretician, Plato (approximately 428- 348 BC) in his book The Republic. The exhibition brings together artists whose work reaches, both conceptually and visually, beyond an outwardly direct message into the realm of ideas, philosophy, and imagination. It investigates the idea of reality and the actuality and apparent truthfulness of the depicted, questioning whether all that we experience might be merely a constructed reality— created by ourselves.
