Art moves sideways, hand to hand, studio to studio, long before institutions know what to call it. Alley Cats is Ruttkowski;68's annual summer exhibition about this creative exchange. Eleven gallery artists work alongside a mentor, co-conspirator, or fellow traveler who sharpens or expands their way of seeing. Generations and sensibilities cut across painting, sculpture, and installation. Some connections are obvious, while others sit deeper in attitude, rhythm, or approach.
