Skarstedt presents André Butzer’s first solo exhibition at its Chelsea location, featuring 10 large-scale paintings and 15 works on paper. Butzer’s work merges European Expressionism with American pop culture, depicting fractured, industrialized figures that confront destruction and renewal. His paintings embody contradiction—dispersion and structure, affirmation and negation—forming a fragile yet cohesive whole. Through color and form, he explores existence, resilience, and the necessity of human dignity.
