Angie Zheng: Impressions

/ slash art San Francisco · Mission
Exhibition on view: Jul 23, 2026 - Sep 19, 2026

印象 / Impressions takes its title from the Chinese question “有印象吗?” (“Do you have an impression of it?”), emphasizing memory as something shaped by feeling and change. Drawing from 20 years of archived violin and viola performances, artist Zheng presents evolving sound works alongside scores and printed works. Through participatory listening, the exhibition dissolves boundaries between composer, performer, and audience.

Angie Zheng

Angie Zheng (b. 2000) is a violist, teacher, and artist from Shanghai, currently living and working in San Francisco. She builds a world through documenting fleeting and cyclical forms, considering memory and space in the context of performance, gathering, and installation. Guided by the people, places, and seasons she encounters, her practice is deeply grounded in her classical music upbringing in Shanghai and studies in Viola Performance, Architectural Studies, and Food Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.
