Installation view of "Art in Focus: Dor Guez" at the Jewish Museum, New York. Photo by Kris Graves.
Art in Focus: Dor Guez presents an installation drawn from the artist’s family archive, which joins Christian Palestinian and Jewish Tunisian heritage. Glass vitrines hold buttons, a red vest sewn by his grandmother, and other belongings of his grandparents, Holocaust survivors who moved to Israel in 1951, alongside photographs of a water-damaged play by his grandfather. The work explores memory, migration, language, and identity.
