In Present Tense (Roll Call), Stephanie Syjuco presents her largest wall installation to date, drawing on archives and educational materials to examine how knowledge is shaped, preserved, and contested. Referencing student activism and the origins of ethnic studies, the work responds to current attacks on education and diversity. Through layered images and texts, Syjuco questions how history is constructed and invites reflection on the politics of teaching, learning, and belonging.
