At Dawn the Mad Hare Gleamed is Grigoris Semitecolo’s first solo exhibition in the United States, presented by Sea View. Featuring 11 oil paintings curated by Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos, the exhibition highlights the artist’s atmospheric compositions and geometric forms. A central figure in Greek experimental art, Semitecolo connected painting, performance, and installation, often through mannequin based works and interdisciplinary collaborations. The title references a poem by Miltos Sachtouris.

Grigoris Semitecolo

Semitekolo Grigoris (Athens, 1935 – Athens, 2014), Greek painter and performance artist, studied under Panos Sarafianos and Yannis Moralis, first exhibited in 1962 at the University of Munich, presented solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, worked with painting, performances, happenings, music and stage design, collaborated with composer Yannis Christou, founding member of the Center for the Visual Arts, his work reshaped reality through imagination and the unconscious.
