Devin Troy Strother’s *B M W (A Black Man’s Wish)* explores aspiration, status, identity, and Black cultural expression through the symbolism of the luxury car. Drawing on a phrase from 1980s Harlem and his own BMW, Strother moves between humor and sincerity to examine how objects associated with wealth and mobility become vessels for desire, self-image, and the complicated distance between fantasy and everyday life.
