Beckon is a solo exhibition of new paintings by Julia Jo. Working on square linen canvases, Jo moves between figuration and abstraction, building and obscuring faces and bodies through layered oil paint. The works focus on expression, vulnerability, and emotional perception, using fragmentation and accumulation to hold multiple readings within a single image.
