Jack Shainman Gallery presents Becoming Animal, a new body of work by Lyne Lapointe exploring the body’s resilience, freedom, and protection in a world of fragility and otherness. Drawing on philosophical ideas of transformation, Lapointe integrates natural and found materials, such as beehives and pearls, into her figures. These works challenge rigid gender norms, embodying vulnerability and resistance, and invite reflection on personal identity, environmentalism, and socio-political context.
