Rashid Johnson's "Birthday Boys" brings new work on fathers and sons: four "Broken Soul" mosaics in which two heads built from tile, mirror and other fragments intertwine, suspended "Exhausted Figures" caught between movement and collapse, and the film "Birthday Boys" (2026), built around mirroring. The work explores intimacy and independence, inheritance and self-determination, and seeing a child as his own person.
