Thandi Loewenson: Black Fire! traces UFO mythology as an uncanny continuation of colonial history, drawing on archives from Sweden and Zimbabwe alongside publications by Africa's former lead UFOlogist Cynthia Hind. Witness drawings and sighting accounts are reanimated through ghostly red-light projections, framing the alien as both legal instrument and imaginative lens through which racial anxiety persists beyond the colonial world. Speculative fabulation, archival recontextualization, and sonic reimagining converge in an immersive installation that unsettles fixed categories of the human and its borders.
