Henri Paul Broyard: Black Florals

Henri Paul Broyard’s *Black Florals* returns to the floral still life, rendering plants and leaves as graphic black silhouettes over grounds of color blocks, grids and stripes. Drawn from personal photos, gardening books and vintage Sunset magazines, the plants hover like a view through a window screen or a half-remembered dream. Cracked flower pots mended with construction adhesive and metal brackets appear as sculptures.
