*Breeze Through Mindscapes* presents new paintings by Miho Ichise that examine the transformation of everyday observation into subjective experience. Working from photographs of quotidian details—lantern light, foliage, dew, and shifting hair—Ichise translates photographic snapshots into drawings and paintings, manipulating color, composition, and detail to construct spaces between reality, memory, and imagination. Light and shadow function as both formal and affective elements, contributing to the works’ atmospheric ambiguity. Drawing on references ranging from Georges de La Tour and Hasui Kawase to Pierre Bonnard and Alex Katz, Ichise develops a restrained yet evocative visual language in which familiar scenes become sites of contemplation, emotional resonance, and imaginative possibility.
