Ricco/Maresca Gallery presents Morris Hirshfield: Brooklyn Tailor, the first solo exhibition in over 30 years of the self-taught painter famed for hypnotic symmetry, ornate detail, and textile-like surfaces. A Brooklyn immigrant who began painting in his sixties, Hirshfield created 78 works that transform bodies, animals, and landscapes into patterned visions. Celebrated with a MoMA retrospective in 1943, his art remains vivid and singular.
