Brown Out is a solo exhibition of new and ambitious walnut sculptures by Boston-based woodworker Alison Croney Moses.
There are times when we all seek comfort—when we long for stability, strength, and the feeling of being held. This is one of those times. Like an electrical brownout, the moment calls for slowing down, conserving energy, and focusing on what matters most.
Brown is everywhere: in the soil beneath our feet, the trunks of trees, the feathers of birds, and in the skin of most people around the world. It symbolizes simplicity, reliability, and tradition—offering a sense of warmth, grounding, and security.
