Burning in the Eyes of the Maker is an exhibition of new paintings by Celeste Dupuy-Spencer. At a crossroads, Dupuy-Spencer turned fully toward painting and away from the art world—its markets, its extraction, its rewards. What followed were religious and mythological paintings, not as critique but as genuine attempts to reach something older and quieter. Each work proceeds as conversation rather than construction. The task, as the artist puts it, is contact.
