Manuel Mathieu’s second solo exhibition Bury Your Masters presents new paintings and sculptures exploring inherited legacies—familial, political, and spiritual—while questioning their authority in a world where empathy feels absent. Combining personal and historical reckoning with rupture and renewal, Mathieu uses abstraction and diverse media to create immersive works that confront truths, examine dignity, and navigate the struggle for self-preservation.
