Bush Poet is Selby Warren’s first solo exhibition in New York, presented by Dutton. The self taught Australian artist began painting at age 76, drawing on a life of manual labor in rural New South Wales. Using mud, sand, grass, glass, mica, and handmade brushes, he depicted memories, folklore, landscapes, wildlife, and portraits through spare, abstract forms.
