Butterfly Dream marks Jay Lynn Gomez’s first Los Angeles exhibition post-transition, centering trans identity, community, and self-acceptance. Through dreamlike paintings and installations, Gomez captures intimate moments with trans women in LA, revisits past concerns of labor and immigration, and reimagines personal history. Referencing the ancient butterfly dream fable, the exhibition invites viewers into a vibrant, transformative space of rest, resilience, and radical self-love.
