By the Window presents new paintings by Xiao Jiang at Karma Los Angeles, on view April 11–May 24, 2025. Drawing from Chinese Literati painting and Edward Hopper, Xiao captures fleeting light and introspective moments in both landscapes and interiors. His layered oil on burlap technique reveals tactile surfaces and subtle color shifts. From misty mountain scenes to quiet urban vignettes, his works offer contemplative spaces shaped by memory, solitude, and poetic observation.
