California Light and Space (The 21st Century Version) is a group exhibition that gathers artists whose work could only be made in LA. Less concerned with Hollywood spectacle than with the everyday handmade quality of East and South LA, the exhibition considers how the city's distinctive terroir—its light, its basin geography, its magic hour—shapes the work being produced there today.
Featuring works by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Sonia Boyajian, Noah Davis, rafa esparza, Jennifer Guidi, Lauren Halsey, EJ Hill, Thomas Houseago, Manuel López, Rodney McMillian, Mr. Wash, Catherine Opie, Hilary Pecis, Lari Pittman, Jason Rhoades, Cauleen Smith, and Lily Stockman.
