In Pompeii, Cammie Staros presents new sculptures shaped by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires and the ancient city’s destruction. A fragile ceramic tile floor cracks underfoot, recording visitors’ passage. Stone mosaics and resin interventions reference archaeological repair and displacement, while warped vessels encased in volcanic rock evoke eruption and preservation. The installation reflects on collapse, memory, and endurance across past and present.
