Anthony Olubunmi Akinbola: Camouflage presents new paintings exploring durags as material, metaphor, and medium. Moving beyond overt sociopolitical commentary, he examines color, texture, and form to convey emotion and transformation. Works range from durag compositions to “brick” paintings inspired by Dakar construction, linking textile and architecture. The exhibition expands the durag’s visual language, merging identity, abstraction, and personal expression.
