This final curatorial project reflects a personal reckoning with the role of the captive maternal, as defined by Joy James—one rooted in care, resistance, and sacrifice. Featuring seven artists—Edmonds, Banks, Wilson, Rosario, Lor, Attar, and Gueorguieva—the exhibition honors their creative labor as acts of reclamation. Through painting, sculpture, and poetic expression, they reclaim time, space, and memory as tools for communal survival, radical love, and visionary resistance.
