Simard Bilodeau Contemporary presents Caribbean Stages, new paintings by Alexandre Arrechea, on view May 3–June 7, 2025. Drawing from Cuba’s coral reefs, Arrechea explores cultural identity as fluid and shaped by distance and memory. Using natural forms and architectural cues, he evokes a sense of place while resisting nostalgia. His compositions, influenced by 3D modeling and dioramas, suggest evolving, staged realities—echoes of diasporic life in constant transformation.
