Alberto Pitta: Carnival, Struggle and Other Brazilian Stories

Nara Roesler New York · Chelsea
Exhibition on view: Oct 30, 2025 - Jan 6, 2026

Nara Roesler presents a dialogue between Alberto Pitta and Elian Almeida, curated by Luis Pérez-Oramas. Pitta’s vibrant textile works draw from Afro-Brazilian spirituality and Carnival traditions, while Almeida’s narrative paintings reclaim Black representation in Brazilian art history. Together, their works explore ancestry, identity, and empowerment, linking cultural memory with contemporary artistic expression.
