Celebrating the Year of the Horse brings together works from The Met collection that examine the horse’s symbolic and practical roles in Chinese culture. Spanning ceramics, sculpture, and prints, the exhibition considers the animal’s presence in agriculture, warfare, ritual, and popular belief, as well as its association with strength, vitality, protection, and cosmopolitan identity across Chinese history.
