Critically Extant is a project using AI trained on open-source images to generate visual interpretations of critically endangered species with minimal digital presence. Launched as an Instagram exhibition, it highlights the gaps in our knowledge and representation of biodiversity online. By inserting these imagined creatures into daily digital consumption, the project encourages awareness, engagement, and new forms of care for species at risk of disappearing.
