Federico Bolagno-Romero and Mathías Chumino: Datos Helados | Soft Tidal conceives data as liquid, malleable matter — settling, eroding, and transforming like water. Drawing a psychogeographic vector between two estuaries, the Hudson River and the Río de la Plata, the exhibition traces how both bodies of water refuse a single course, fresh and salt water mixing irreversibly. The title's paradox — "frozen data" that is in fact thawing and decomposing — frames the digital archive as technological ruin. Through sculpture and media, the work renders data as soma: a materiality that breathes, mutates, and loses definition at its edges, sustained by submarine cables, server routes, and infrastructures themselves subject to corrosion and drift.
