Anglim/Trimble presents Déjà Vu, a solo exhibition by Enrique Chagoya spanning 2004–2025. Through satirical paintings, prints, and drawings, Chagoya critiques Western colonialism and the absurdities of American politics, juxtaposing pop culture icons with Mesoamerican symbols. From amate-paper codices to macabre caricatures of contemporary leaders, his works reflect on history’s repetition—“first as tragedy, then as catastrophe”—and humanity’s failure to learn from the past.
