What Holds Us brings together Diane Chappalley’s paintings and ceramic wall works in which figures, flowers, and heart forms appear within soft, atmospheric grounds. The works consider maternity as a state of becoming, linking bodily experience with cycles of renewal and care. Recurrent circular motifs connect inner and outer worlds through symbols of vulnerability and devotion.

Diane Chappalley

Diane Chappalley (Born in 1991, in Switzerland, lives and works in London) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, earning her MA as well as City and Guilds of London Art School, earning her BA. Recent exhibitions include Lychee One Gallery, London, UK; Taymour Grahne Projects, London, UK; WOAW Gallery, Hong Kong, CN, Tube Culture Hall, Milan, IT; and Coma Gallery, Sydney, AU, among others.
