Artist(s)
Diane Simpson
Diane Simpson transforms everyday fragments—collars, pockets, facades—into uncanny sculptures. Using axonometric drawings and 45-degree angles, she flattens and reconstructs forms, referencing medieval, Persian, and Japanese spatial perspectives. Her materials range from hardware supplies to fabrics, shaped with hand tools and precise techniques. Works often play with scale, suggesting the body without depicting it, spanning her practice from 1976–2022.
