Cameron Granger’s debut solo show, DOOM & GLOOM!! at Kate Werble Gallery, reimagines the history of the rock dove, or common pigeon, as a lens through which to examine American cultural narratives. Once vital to the nation’s development, pigeons have since been reduced to urban nuisances. Through sculpture and video, Granger explores their shifting roles—from messengers to lab subjects—using speculative fiction and hidden histories to envision a future beyond these cycles.
