ECHOES FROM COPELAND presents Nathaniel Mary Quinn’s new paintings inspired by Alice Walker’s The Third Life of Grange Copeland. Drawing from Walker’s exploration of familial trauma, Quinn depicts real and imagined scenes with figures in interiors, cityscapes, and natural settings. Paint-drawing techniques interweave naturalistic and fractured imagery, reflecting both ancestral narratives and the artist’s personal history, including his own childhood and his mother’s experiences.
